Norman is in love with Annie. Annie is in love with Norman. The only problem is, Norman is married to Annie’s sister Ruth, and Tom is plucking up the courage to ask Annie to marry him. Then there is Annie and Ruth’s brother Reg and his wife Sarah, who Norman has also taken a shine to. Add in some parsnip wine, a proposed mini-break to East Grinstead and some missing fuse wire and you have a recipe for hilarity.
With his famous wit and compassion, Britain’s most loved and performed living playwright, Sir Alan Ayckbourn, reveals the frustration which bubbles beneath the surface of a family’s relationships and brings to light their thoughts on marriage, love and happiness.
You may have seen what happened in the Dining Room and the Living Room, now find out what happened in the Garden. Even if you have not seen the other plays, join us in a country garden in the middle of summer to find out whether they all end up living happily ever after.

‘Write about what you know’
by Paul Gisby
This lively comedy lifts the lid on a group of amateur writers and poets who meet every month in their local scout hut to discuss their writing, exchange tips and seek mutual encouragement. Closer examination of this disparate group of writers reveals a whirlwind of love affairs, petty jealousy, rivalry and literary one-upmanship punctuated with readings of excruciatingly funny amateur penmanship, with everybody encouraged to draw on their own very different experiences to ‘write about what they know’.
